This Chapter is devoted to the components located between the rear of the engine and the drive wheels of the vehicle (excluding the gearbox, which is discussed in Chapter Gear shift box). According to their purpose, the components under consideration can be divided into two categories: clutch and drive shafts. The following Sections provide descriptions of the design and operating principle of each of the individual units, as well as procedures for checking the condition, removing, disassembling and repairing the components included in both groups.
Since most of the procedures described in this Chapter are performed under the vehicle, special attention should be paid to ensuring that the vehicle is securely fixed in the raised position.
