This chapter is about the components located between the rear of the engine and the vehicle's drive wheels (without a transmission which is considered in the Chapter Gear box). According to their purpose, the components under consideration can be divided into two categories: clutch and drive shafts. The following Sections describe the design and operation of each of the individual components, as well as the procedures for checking the condition, removing, disassembling and refurbishing the components included in both groups.
Since most of the procedures described in this Chapter are performed under the car, special attention should be paid to the reliability of fixing the latter in a raised position.
