2. Check that the free play of the throttle cable and the idle speed are normal.
3. If the car is equipped with an air damper, then disconnect the vacuum hose from it, connect the pump and pump out the air. This will provide the air damper with normal thrust as if the engine were running.
4. Remove the free play of the throttle cable.
5. Lightly press your finger on the throttle control lever. At this time, actuate the throttle linkage. The lever should move as soon as the engine speed exceeds idle speed. If this is not the case, then step 6 should be followed.
6. Loosen the locknuts on the transmission side control cable and synchronize the control lever with the throttle.
The shifting and locking characteristics can be tailored to the driver's comfort by adjusting the control cable 3mm shorter than the timing point.
7. Remove pump and connect vacuum hose to air damper.
