2. Check that the throttle cable free play and idle speed are normal.
3. If the car is equipped with an air damper, then the vacuum hose should be disconnected from it, a pump should be connected and the air should be pumped out. This will provide the air damper with normal traction, as with the engine running.
4. Remove any free play from the throttle cable.
5. Lightly press the throttle control lever with your finger. At this time, operate the throttle rod. The lever should move as soon as the engine speed exceeds idle speed. If this is not the case, then step 6 should be performed.
6. Loosen the locknuts on the control cable on the gearbox side and synchronize the control lever with the throttle operation.
The shifting and locking characteristics can be tailored to suit the driver's comfort by adjusting the control cable to 3 mm shorter than the synchronisation point.
7. Remove the pump and connect the vacuum hose to the air damper.
