2. Press the throttle control lever all the way down.
3. While holding the lever down, pull the throttle cable to check the amount of free play in the cable.
4. Remove all throttle cable play by gradually turning the lock nut near the cable housing. Turn the lock nut until the throttle rod stops moving. While holding the lever down, open the throttle rod. The throttle control lever should begin to move exactly at the same time as the throttle rod.
5. Ask an assistant to press the accelerator pedal all the way down. With the pedal pressed, check that the free play of the throttle control lever is at least 2 mm. While pressing the accelerator pedal, make sure that the cable moves freely.
