2. Check that the throttle cable free play and idle speed are normal.
3. Check the distance between the throttle control lever and the bracket. Adjust if necessary.
4. On 1990-91 Prelude models, disconnect the vacuum hose from the throttle controller, connect a pump to it and bleed the air.
5. Lightly press the throttle control lever with your finger. At this time, the assistant should press the accelerator pedal. The lever should move as soon as the engine speed exceeds idle speed. If this is not the case, then step 6 should be performed.
6. Loosen the locknuts on the control cable on the gearbox side and synchronize the control lever with the throttle operation.
The shifting and locking characteristics can be tailored to suit the driver's comfort by adjusting the control cable to 3 mm shorter than the synchronisation point.
