Checking and replacing transmission fluid (Honda CR-V 2)

1. Park the car on a level surface and turn off the engine.

2. Unscrew the plug (A) from the filler hole, remove the washer (B), check the condition of the fluid and make sure that the fluid level (C) is normal.



3. If the transmission fluid is dirty, remove the drain plug (D) and drain the fluid.



4. Screw the plug into the drain hole, installing a new washer, and fill with transmission fluid to the required level.

Oil capacity

2WD model:

• 1.9 l when changing the fluid.
• 2.1 l during repair.

4WD model:

• 1.9 l when changing the fluid.
• 2.3 l during repair.

Always use Honda Manual Transmission Fluid (MTF). When using engine oil, the gearshift may become more rigid, as the oil does not contain the necessary additives.

5. Screw the plug into the filler hole, installing a new washer.
