Traction relay — checking and replacement (Honda CR-V 1)

When the engine starts, there should be battery voltage between the S terminal of the relay and ground. Replace the relay that has no winding circuit to ground, or has an open winding.

Removal and installation

1. On V6 engines, disconnect the transmission hose from the bracket on the starter.

2. Disconnect the wires from terminals B and S of the starter, unscrew the bolts securing the starter to the transmission and remove the starter.

3. Installation is carried out in reverse order. The starter power cable terminal must be facing up with the ribbed side.
