2. Disconnect the two hoses from the ejector.
3. To set the throttle valve, press the accelerator pedal to the floor and release it smoothly.
4. Start the engine; it should run at fast idle. If the engine is not at fast idle, stop the engine and remove the throttle cover. Check the functionality of the fast idle cam.
5. Connect a vacuum pump to the inside of the ejector and obtain a vacuum. The fast idle speed should decrease. If it does not decrease, check the ejector for leaks, damage, or a faulty diaphragm. Replace the ejector if necessary.
6. Connect the hoses.
7. Warm up the engine. Once the engine has reached the desired temperature, the fast idle speed should drop below 1400 rpm as the release pulls the choke lever away from the fast idle cam.
8. If the fast idle speed does not decrease, check the vacuum in the lines and the play in the mechanical lever. Check the vacuum in the thermostatic valves A and B.
