3. To install the throttle, press the accelerator pedal to the floor and release it slowly.

- a. Remove two screws.
- b. Connect the vacuum pump to the hose connection.
- c. Hold your finger over the hole until enough vacuum is generated to fully retract the opener rod inward.
- d. If the rod does not stay inside, replace the opener.
- e. If the rod remains inside, inspect the vacuum port in the carburetor. Clean it if necessary.
5. If the coolant temperature is below 11°C, tab A on the throttle opener should not be located near the carburetor. If there is a touch, disconnect the opener hose. If the presser foot has moved away from the support, check the #18 vacuum hose for blockages and check that the thermal valve B is working properly. If the tab does not come off, press the opener lever down until it comes off; if this does not happen, clean the vacuum port of the opener with a 0.5 mm drill and repeat the test.
6. If the coolant temperature is above 19°C, tab A should be placed against the carburetor. If so, reconnect throttle heater wires.
7. If the presser foot is not positioned properly, check the #18 vacuum hose for blockages and check that thermal valve B is closed.
