Examination

1. Center the steering wheel spokes.

Note: Measure the difference in toe-in measurements in the straight-ahead position of the road wheels.

2. Check the front toe-in. Front toe-in: 0±3 mm.
  • If adjustment is required, proceed to step 3.
  • If adjustment is not required, remove the equipment.

Adjustment

3. Loosen the tie rod lock nuts and rotate both tie rods in the same direction until the front wheels are in the straight ahead position.

4. Rotate both steering rods equally until the required toe-in reading is obtained on the steering angle measuring stand.

5. After adjustment, tighten the steering rod locknuts.

Note: Reinstall the tie rod boot if it is twisted or displaced.

Note: Reinstall the tie rod boot if it is twisted…

Rear toe-in

1. To avoid inaccurate measurement, release the parking brake.

2. Check the toe-in. Rear toe-in: 2±5 mm.

3. If the toe-in is different from the specified one, check for bent or damaged suspension components.

Checking the rotation angle

1. Raise the front of the car with a jack. Place steering angle measuring stands under the front wheels, then lower the car.

2. Raise the rear of the car with a jack. Place boards of the same thickness as the stands under the rear wheels, then lower the car.

Note: To obtain accurate readings, the vehicle must be level.

3. Turn the wheel right and left while pressing the brake and measure the turning angle of both wheels. Turning angle:
  • Inner wheel: 38°00'±2°
  • Outer wheel: 30°00' (reference data)

Outer wheel: 30°00' (reference data)

4. If the measurements differ from those specified, adjust by rotating the steering rods.

Note: After adjustment, recheck the front wheel alignment and adjust again if necessary. Reinstall the steering tie rod boot if it is twisted or displaced.

Note: After adjustment, recheck the front wheel…

Bearing axial play

1. Raise the vehicle with four wheels off the ground and securely support it on the safety stands at the designated points.

2. Remove the wheels, then re-tighten the wheel nuts.

3. Fix the indicator as shown in the figure on the next page at the top left.

4. Measure the bearing axial play by moving the disc inward or outward. Front/Rear: 0-0.05mm.

5. If the bearing axial play measurement exceeds the standard value, replace the wheel bearing.
