Warning! Do not smear the boot installation area with grease.
1. Remove the boot from the lower arm and wipe off the old grease from the ball stud.
2. Pack the bottom of the ball stud with fresh grease.
3. Stuff the new boot and lip with fresh grease from the inside.
Warning!
- Do not apply grease to the boot installation area and ball stud taper area.
- Keep dust, dirt, and other foreign matter out of the case.
4. Install the new cover using the special tool as shown.
Note: There should be no gaps in the boot installation areas.
5. After installation, perform the following checks:
- Check the boot for damage and the boot installation area for deformation.
- Make sure there are no gaps between the boot and the hinge body.
Warning! After installing the boot, check for dirty grease on the tapered area of the ball pin and wipe it off if necessary.
