- The idle speed control valve connector is securely connected.
- MIL indicator does not light.
- The ignition timing angle is set correctly,
- Spark plugs are in good condition,
- The air filter is clean.
- The forced crankcase ventilation system is working.
Start the engine, look for the radiator fan to turn on, let the engine run without load at 3000 rpm.
When using a tachometer:
1. Disconnect the connector and rubber cover from the crankshaft speed sensor and connect the tachometer.
A - tachometer,
B - connector,
C - cover.
2. Check the crankshaft speed without load with the steering wheel set in the direction of straight-ahead travel; with external lighting, fans and air conditioning turned off.
- Idle speed (no load, selector in position "P" or "N") - 750±50 rpm
3. Turn on the air conditioner and set the air blowing mode to maximum; check the engine speed after 1 minute.
- Idle speed (with air conditioning on); selector in position "P" or "N") - 850±50 rpm
When using a Honda or other scanner:
1. Connect the scanner to the diagnostic connector.
2. Check the crankshaft speed without load with the steering wheel set in the direction of straight-ahead travel and with the outside lights, fans and air conditioner off.
- Idle speed (no load, selector in position "P" or "N") - 750±50 rpm
3. Turn on the air conditioner and set the air blowing mode to maximum. Check the engine speed after 1 minute.
- Idle speed (with air conditioning on, selector in position "P" or "N") - 850±50 rpm
If the speed is not within the nominal range, check the idle system.
