The sonar system is designed to inform the driver about the distance to an obstacle when parking a car or entering a garage.

The system is ready for operation when the ignition key is in position "II". To turn on the sensors, press the switch button (the indicator inside the switch lights up). To turn off, press the button again.

The system is ready for operation when the…

Corner sonars

Models with automatic transmission

The sensors operate when the selector lever is set to any position except "P", at a speed not exceeding 10 km/h.

Models with manual transmission

The sensors operate when the parking brake is released, at a speed not exceeding 10 km/h.

Rear sonars

Models with automatic transmission

The sensors operate when the selector lever is in the "R" position, at a speed not exceeding 10 km/h.

Models with manual transmission

The sensors operate when the gearshift lever is set to the "R" position, at a speed of no more than 10 km/h. When the sensors detect an obstacle during operation, the corresponding operating indicators located above the switch begin to flash and a warning buzzer sounds at the same time.

Working indicators and warning buzzer

After the system is turned on, the indicators flash once and a warning buzzer sounds as a check of functionality.

After the system is turned on, the indicators…

Note: If the indicator does not go out or the buzzer does not stop sounding, contact a service station (in normal condition the signals are switched off automatically).

Sonar coverage area

The coverage area of the sensors is indicated in the figures by shaded areas.

Corner sonars

Corner sonars

Within 0.5 m of each sensor.

Rear sonars

Rear sonars

Within 2 m behind the vehicle.

Note: Do not connect additional devices in sonar coverage areas.

The system may not operate normally in the following cases:
  • If there is water, dirt, snow, etc. on the sensors.
  • If the car has been exposed to bright sunlight or cold for a long time.
  • When driving on rough terrain, gravel roads, through bushes, etc.
  • When there is a lot of loud extraneous noise around (sounds of horns, engines of other cars, etc.).
  • When using an antenna for wireless devices.
  • The system does not respond to the following items:
  • Thin objects such as rope, wire, etc.
  • Sound absorbing objects (for example, snow)
  • Small items.
  • Anything directly under the bumper is outside the range of the sensors, so some objects may no longer be detected as you get closer to them.

As an example, the table shows the operation of the sensors when there is an obstacle in front on the left.
