Note:
- Be careful not to scratch the back door.
- Wear protective gloves.
1. Remove the following components:
- License plate (on some models).
- Lower decorative panel of the rear door.
2. Remove the spare tire bracket (A).
3. Open the rear door, then remove the bolt securing the rear door lower trim.
4. On some models: Disconnect the connector (A) from the license plate light, remove the clamp (B) from the harness, then remove the rubber grommet (C).
5. Pull the bottom of the rear lid lower trim (A) and separate the lower clips (B). While squeezing the upper clips (C) from inside the rear lid, remove the rear lid lower trim. If equipped, remove the license plate light harness (D) from inside the rear door.
6. If necessary, remove the clips as shown in the figure and remove the stiffener (A). If present, remove the screws and remove the license plate cover (B).
7. Installation of the trim is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following:
- Replace the spare tire carrier mounting nuts with new ones.
- Replace damaged clamps.
