1. Remove the following components:
- Door panel
- Plastic lid (if necessary)
2. Raise the glass fully.
3. Release the clamp and unhook the hook (A), then remove the lock rod protective cover (B).
4. Disconnect the outside handle rod (A) and the cylinder rod (B). On the driver's door with central locking: Disconnect the outside handle rod only. The picture shows an outside handle without a lock cylinder switch (the handle from the lock cylinder switch is similar).
5. On the driver's door with central locking: Pull out the glass guide channel (A) as far as necessary. Loosen the bolt, then remove the center lower guide (B) by pulling it downwards and out of the outer handle rod (C) through the hole (D) in the guide.
6. On the driver's door with central locking: Disconnect the lock cylinder rod (see item 4).
7. Release the retaining clip (B) using the L-shaped tool. On models without central locking, remove the lock cylinder (C).
8. On models without central locking with a lock cylinder switch, unscrew the screw, then separate the lock cylinder (A) from the cylinder switch (B).
9. On models with lock cylinder switch: Disconnect the connector (A) from the lock cylinder switch and remove the harness clamp (B), then remove the lock cylinder switch (C). The illustration shows the model with central locking.
10. Loosen the bolt, then remove the cylinder cover (A). The picture shows the model without central locking and with central locking (from the passenger side). Differences between models with central locking (from the driver's side) in that the lock cylinder and the cylinder cover are removed as an assembly.
11. On models with central locking: Remove the screws (A, B), then separate the lock cylinder (C), cylinder switch (D) and cylinder cover (E).
12. Loosen the bolt, then remove the spacer (A).
13. Pull the outer handle (A) towards you to remove the handle from the holes in the door panel. Don't scratch the door.
14. Installation of the outer handle is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following.
- Make sure the cylinder switch harness is routed properly (on some models).
- Make sure the cylinder switch connector is inserted securely (on some models) and the rods are connected properly.
- Make sure the door locks and unlocks properly.
- When installing the lock cylinder, leave the outer handle bolts loose so that the inner protective cover does not interfere with the installation of the lock cylinder, then tighten the handle bolts.
- Place the lock cylinder retaining clip onto the handle, then insert the lock cylinder. Make sure the clip is fully seated in the slot on the lock cylinder.
