Front wheels

Removal

1. Remove the steering knuckle (see below).

2. On CR-V and Odyssey V6 models, press the front hub out of the bearing assembly.

3. On 4-cylinder Odysseys, remove the mounting bolts and remove the hub.

4. Place the hub on a base with a sufficiently deep mandrel and press the studs out of the hub using a hydraulic press or a ball forging hammer.

Installation

5. Place a mandrel under the hub so that the stud is pressed in without distortion. Press the stud until the head of the stud stops in the hub.

6. Next, install in reverse order. On CR-V and Odyssey V6 models, replace the wheel bearing and press the hub into the steering knuckle. On 4 cylinder Odysseys, install the hub into the knuckle. Replace the hub nut. Tighten the connections to the specified torques (see end of chapter).

Rear wheels

Removal

1. Remove the rear wheel hub (see below).

2. Place the hub on a base with a sufficiently deep mandrel and press the studs out of the hub using a hydraulic press or a ball forging hammer.

Installation

3. Place a mandrel under the hub so that the stud is pressed in without distortion. Press the stud until the head of the stud stops in the hub.

4. Then the installation is carried out in reverse order. Replace the wheel nut with each pressed stud. On CR-V and 4-cylinder Odyssey models, replace the hub nut by tightening it to 181 Nm (CR-V) or 245 Nm (Odyssey) and locking it by pressing the shoulder of the nut into the groove on the axle. On Odyssey V6 models, replace the hub cap.
