Withdrawal
1. Raise and secure the front of the vehicle. Double check the fastening is secure.
2. To remove a covering and a casing of a steering hinge. Unscrew the bolt and separate the steering shaft at the coupling.
3. Remove the front wheels.
4. Remove the cotter pins and half-screw the castle nuts on the ends of the tie rod. Using a ball joint puller, separate the ends of the rod. Once the pivots are separated, remove the castle nut and pull the tie rod ends out of the steering knuckles.
5. Remove the central beam.
6. On manual transmission vehicles, disconnect the shift rod and extension from the clutch housing.
7. On vehicles with automatic transmission, remove the shift cable guide from the floor and pull the shift cable down by hand.
8. Remove the nuts connecting the head exhaust pipe to the exhaust pipe and remove the exhaust pipe bracket. Move the exhaust pipe to the side.
9. Pull the rail all the way to the right (simulating a left turn) and remove the crankcase brackets. Move the ends of the tie rod all the way to the right.
10. Lower the crankcase low enough to allow the end of the worm shaft to come out of the hole in the frame channel, then rotate it forward until the shaft points back.
11. Move the crankcase to the right to the left connecting rod, freeing the exhaust pipe, then lower it and remove it from the car to the left.
For installation:
12. Install the rail with your hands to the right (simulating a left turn). Install the rail by reversing the removal procedures. Turn the rack so that the worm shaft goes into the hole in the frame channel.
13. After placing and centering, install the mounting brackets; tighten the bolts to 22 Nm.
14. Connect the exhaust pipe and install the brackets. Tighten the pipe nuts to 55 Nm and the bracket nuts to 22 Nm.
15. Connect transmission controls.
16. Install the central beam. Tighten the beam bolts to 50 Nm.
17. Attach tie rod ball joints, install castle nut and install new cotter pin.
18. Inside the vehicle, connect the steering shaft connector to the worm shaft. Tighten the base bolt to 30 Nm.
19. Install the front wheels and lower the vehicle to the ground.
