You will need Honda special tool 07916-SA50001 for the steering gear housing lock nuts or equivalent.
Accord
1. Remove the steering gear mud shield, if equipped.
2. Loosen the rack guide adjusting lock nut.
3. Tighten the adjusting screw until it compresses the spring and seats against the guide, then loosen it. Retighten it to 4 Nm, then back it off about 25 degrees owl on a 1986-89 Accord or 35 degrees owl on a 1990-91 Accord.
4. Hold it in this position while adjusting the lock nut to 25 Nm.

5. Check for play and rotate the wheels from one lock to the other to ensure that the rack moves freely.
Prelude
1. Make sure the rack is well lubricated.
2. Loosen the guide rack adjusting lock nut.
3. Tighten the adjusting screw until it compresses the spring and seats against the guide, then loosen it. Retighten it to 2.7 Nm, then back it off approximately 20-30 degrees, or 15-25 degrees on 1990-91 vehicles. On 2WD vehicles, retighten the screw to 3 Nm and tighten the locknut to 25 Nm. On 4WD vehicles, back the adjuster off 30-40 degrees, tighten to 3 Nm and secure with the locknut.
4. Check for play and rotate the wheels from one lock to the other to ensure that the rack moves freely.
