2. Rotate the piston and pull it out with the boot. Be very careful not to damage them.
3. After removal of a lock ring remove a washer, an adjusting spring and a nut from the piston.
4. Carefully remove the piston seal.
5. Install Honda tool 07960-SAS0002 or equivalent between caliper housing and spring guide.
6. Rotate the tool shaft to compress the adjusting spring; remove the retaining ring with special pliers.
7. After releasing the spring, remove the spring cover, adjusting spring, gasket, bearing and adjusting bolt.
8. Remove the sleeve piston; pull the pin out of the cam.
9. Disassemble the return spring, parking nut, spring washer, lever, cam and cam boot.
For installation:
10. After cleaning and checking all parts for wear or damage, apply rubber lubricant to the needle bearing. Coat the new cam boot with the same grease and install in the caliper.
11. Install the cam with the threaded part up.
12. Install lever, spring washer and parking nut. Tighten the nut to 28 Nm.
13. Install the return spring.
14. Install the pin into the cam. Install a new O-ring on the sleeve piston.
15. Install the sleeve piston. The hole in the base of the piston must be flush with the pin in the cam; the two pins on the piston should line up with the holes in the caliper.
16. Install a new cap with the groove facing the adjusting bolt on the bearing side.
17. Install the bearing, spacer, adjusting spring and spring cap onto the adjusting bolt. Install the bolt in the cylinder bore.
18. Insert tool 07973-SA50000 (rear caliper guide) or equivalent per cylinder. The notch on the tool should be flush with the tab on the spring cover.
19. Install the spring extractor (used in Clause 5) and compress the spring all the way.
20. Remove the caliper guide. Make sure the protruding end of the spring cap is below the circlip groove.
21. Install retaining ring. Make sure it is installed correctly, then remove the puller.
22. Install the adjusting nut, spring and washer on the piston and secure with the circlip.
23. Apply silicone grease to the new seal and piston boot, install them on the caliper.
24. After lubricating the outer side of the piston, install the piston on the adjusting bolt by turning it clockwise. Be very careful not to damage the piston boot.
25. Install the shoe retainer.
