2. Remove the rear wheel and brake drum.
3. On 1990-91 Accords, remove the upper return spring from the brake shoe.
4. Remove the spring pins by pressing on the retaining springs and turning the pins.
5. Lower the brake shoe assembly and remove the lower return spring.
6. Remove the brake shoe assembly.

7. Disconnect the parking brake cable from the lever.
8. Remove the upper return spring, lever and self-adjusting spring. Remove the brake shoes.
9. Remove the wave washer, parking brake lever and pivot pin from the brake shoe by removing the U-bracket.
10. Apply brake cylinder grease to the sliding surface of the pivot pin and insert the pin into the brake shoe.
11. Install the parking brake lever and wave washer onto the pivot pin and secure with a U-shaped bracket.
12. Connect the parking brake cable to the parking brake lever.
13. Apply lubricant to all sliding surfaces of the support shield.
14. Clean the threaded portions of the adjusting bolt stops. Coat the threads with grease. Turn the adjusting bolt to shorten the stops.
15. Attach the adjusting spring first to the adjuster lever, then to the brake shoe.
16. Install the "adjusting bolt - stops" assembly and the upper return spring.
17. Install the brake pads on the support shield.
18. Install the lower return spring, spring pins and retainer springs.
19. On 1990-91 Accord, attach the upper return spring.
20. Turn the adjusting bolt to compress the brake shoes until the brake drum begins to move with difficulty. Then back off the adjusting bolt just enough to allow the brake drum to rotate freely.
21. Install the wheel; lower the car to the ground.
22. Press the brake pedal several times to allow the brake to self-adjust. Adjust the parking brake.
