About the IHCC System
The laser beams reflected from the vehicle in front measure the distance between the vehicles. The system operates at a distance of up to 100 m.
About the system
When there is no vehicle in front
1. The vehicle is moving at a constant set speed (within 65-100 km/h).
When there is a vehicle in front
2. The system maintains a distance corresponding to the vehicle speed by changing the speed of your vehicle (not higher than the established). The speed of your vehicle changes according to the speed of the vehicle in front, i.e. Your car follows him. (The distance corresponds to the speed: with a decrease in speed, the distance increases, and with an increase, it decreases).
3. When the vehicle in front disappears, your vehicle will slowly accelerate to the set speed (65-100 km/h).
4. When a slower vehicle comes in front, the speeds of the vehicles equalize and your vehicle follows the vehicle in front. If the vehicle in front has suddenly slowed down or if another vehicle has wedged between you and the distance has become very small, the driver is notified of this by sounding a buzzer and displaying it on the display. (In such cases, slow down by depressing the brake pedal and maintain a safe distance).
Attention:
If an unexpected failure of the IHCC system occurs at high speed (distance control, proximity warning), fatal accident may occur. Maintain a sufficient distance and keep an eye on traffic conditions at all times.
Do not turn on the IHCC system in the following cases:
- In bad weather (rain, fog, snow.)
- Accurate distance measurement becomes impossible. In addition, after turning the glass cleaners on «H1» the IHCC system is disabled.
- On roads with heavy traffic.
- Choose a speed that suits the traffic situation.
- On a steep slope.
- Engine braking may not be sufficient to maintain a constant speed. On a winding road.
- Choose a speed that suits the traffic situation.
- On slippery or snowy roads.
- Due to wheel spin, control of the system becomes impossible.
- In a situation requiring frequent acceleration and deceleration of the vehicle.
- Choose a speed that suits the traffic situation.
- Before entering an intersection, service or parking area from the expressway.
Note:
The IHCC system does not automatically stop the vehicle. In addition, it has limitations in speed control (deceleration to approximately 60 km/h). Therefore, if the forward vehicle slowed down and stopped (dangerous approach alert (display and buzzer), the driver must press the brake pedal and stop the vehicle.
The IHCC system does not monitor the traffic, so maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front and keep your eyes on the traffic at all times.
In the following cases, the system no longer recognizes the vehicle in front, and the safe distance control may not work properly.
- When the vehicle in front is high off the ground (e.g. truck). When the rear of the vehicle in front is heavily soiled.
- When clouds of water drops or snow rise behind the vehicle in front.
- When the reflective surface of the vehicle in front is covered with tape or broken.
The IHCC system does not recognize a vehicle in front at a speed below 20 km/h or a parked vehicle. (Distance is not measured, so depress the brake pedal to maintain a safe distance). In addition, in these cases, the driver is not notified of the dangerous distance. Be alert on the expressway when approaching a toll booth or the last car in a traffic jam.
In the following cases, the system does not notify you of a dangerous distance.
- When your vehicle is moving at nearly the same speed as the vehicle in front.
- When the vehicle in front accelerates and the distance begins to increase.
- When you pressed the gas pedal.
There are times when the system measures the distance to an object other than the vehicle in front. On a winding road or while turning the steering wheel, the system may momentarily measure the distance to a vehicle in a different lane or to a nearby object.
If there is a cyclist in front, the system does not work in the following cases.
- There is no reflector on the bike, the reflector is broken or dirty.
- The bicycle is moving along the very edge of the lane.
Start turning the ignition key or turn the ignition key to «II» only when the vehicle is stopped. Also, when the car is in the car park turntable and the direction of the car changes, turn the ignition key to the «0». Otherwise, subsequent recognition of the vehicle in front may not be possible.
When starting the engine or when the ignition key is turned to «II» A characteristic sound may be heard from the engine compartment side due to the IHCC system check, which is not a malfunction.
Depending on the steepness of the ascent or descent, the system may not provide a constant speed.
