Headlight adjustment should be checked every 12 months, when replacing a headlight or after repairs to the front end. It should be noted that the described procedure only allows you to record the initial adjustment of the headlights before starting emergency repairs, which should be at least approximately restored. Fine adjustment is performed at a car service center.

For adjustment in vertical and horizontal planes, there are 2 handwheels that are rotated with a long screwdriver. The focus of the headlight is provided by the design of the headlight. Before disturbing the installation of the headlight for any reason, it is recommended to mark the original position of the headlight to facilitate adjustment during assembly.

For adjustment in vertical and horizontal planes,…

1. Headlight beams are indicated without loading the vehicle (without passengers) and a half-empty tank in a dark room or at dusk. Place the vehicle on a level surface 7.6 m from the wall (or a screen measuring at least 1.8 x 3.7 m).

2. Measure the distance from the floor to the center of the headlight.

3. Measure the distance from the center of the grille to the center of the headlight.

4. Standing behind the car, determine the axis of symmetry of the body (use your brake lights and rear view mirror when possible), stick a strip of tape on the wall along the axis of symmetry of the car.

5. Apply vertical strips of tape, measuring from the central strip a distance equal to the distance measured from the radiator grille to the center of the headlight.

6. Subtract 25 mm from the distance from the floor to the middle of the headlight and stick on horizontal strips of tape.

7. Turn on the low beam headlights and mark the position of the light spot, then mark the position of the high beam headlights.

8. Adjust the headlights so that the light spot of the low beam headlights falls on the center of the crosshair marked with tape.

Marking the centers of the low beam headlights:…

Marking the centers of the low beam headlights: 1. Mark at a distance equal to the distance measured from the radiator grille to the center of the headlight.; 2. Area with increased illumination; 3. Mark at a distance equal to the distance measured from the floor to the middle of the headlight.; 4. Headlight location line; 5. Axis of symmetry of the car
Marking the centers of the high beam beams: 1.…

Marking the centers of the high beam beams: 1. Mark at a distance equal to the distance measured from the radiator grille to the center of the headlight.; 2. Area with increased illumination; 3. Mark at a distance equal to the distance measured from the floor to the middle of the headlight; 4. Headlight location line; 5. Axis of symmetry of the car
