CAUTION: Honda's anti-lock braking system contains extremely high pressure brake fluid within the pump, accumulator and modulator assembly. Do not disconnect or loosen piping, hoses, joints, or components without properly depressurizing the system. Use ONLY the OTHAA-SG00101 or equivalent tool for this. Incorrect operation may result in injury or malfunction of system components.
1. Make sure the ignition is off (OFF).
2. Using a syringe or similar device, remove all fluid from the master cylinder and modulator reservoirs.
3. Remove the red bleed cap from the top of the pump assembly.
4. Place the bleeder tool on the bleed screw. Make sure that the reservoir cap is attached to the tool.
5. Using a tool, turn the fluid bleed screw approximately 90 degrees to allow high pressure fluid into the reservoir. After the pressure has been released, loosen the screw approximately one full turn to completely free the system.
6. Tighten the fluid drain screw to 5.5 Nm and remove the tool. Remove the collected brake fluid; don't reuse it. Install the red cap on the drain channel.
