ABS Electronic Control Unit — Removal and Installation (Honda Accord 3)

Prelude



1. Make sure the ignition is turned OFF.

2. Remove the cover from the front of the console. The console does not require removal.

3. Unscrew the 4 control unit mounting bolts.

Once the mounting bolts are removed, the error codes stored in memory are lost.


4. Carefully disconnect the wire harnesses.

To install:



5. Connect the wire harnesses; place the control unit back in place.

6. Tighten the 4 bolts; tighten them to 10 Nm.

7. Install the front cover on the console. Turn on the ignition and check the correct operation of the AB5.

Accord



1. Make sure the ignition is OFF. Remove the control unit mounting bolts. Do not lose the nuts. Remove the bolt securing the ground.

Once the mounting bolts are removed, the error codes stored in memory are lost.


2. Remove the control unit and cover.

3. Carefully disconnect the connectors from the control unit.

To install:



4. Connect the connectors to the unit.

5. Put the lid back in place; install the assembly and tighten the bolts securely. Screw in the bolt that secures the


grounding.

6. Turn on the ignition and check that the ABS is functioning correctly.
