Note: Install the solenoid valve in the reverse order of removal, installing a new O-ring (B), then check the following:
- Clean and dry the contact surfaces of the VTC oil solenoid valve.
- Apply engine oil to the O-ring.
- Do not install the VTC oil solenoid valve while wearing knitted gloves.
- Prevent dirt from entering the cylinder head bore.

2. Check if the VTC oil solenoid valve filter is clogged. If it is clogged, replace the VTC oil solenoid valve.
3. Check the clearance between the channel (from the lead side) and valve. The gap (A) must be more than 2.8 mm.

4. Connect the positive battery terminal to terminal No. 2 of the VTC oil solenoid valve 2-pin connector.

5. Connect the negative battery terminal to terminal No.1 of the VTC oil solenoid valve 2-pin connector, then check. Does the valve (A) open fully?.
