Windshield wiper operation control switch
The rotary end switch handle is located at the end of the windshield wiper/washer combination lever on the right-hand stalk. There are three modes of operation of the wipers:
- a) When moving the end handle to the first position (INT) there is an inclusion of an interval mode of operation of screen wipers;
- b) Second position (--) corresponds to the continuous low-speed operation of the brushes;
- c) The choice of the third position (=) the continuous high-speed mode is switched on. In the interval mode, pauses of several seconds are maintained between wiper cycles, which may vary slightly depending on the speed of the car: pauses between wipers are shorter when the car is moving and longer when it stops. In the second and third positions of the switch, the wiper operates continuously.
Additionally, it is possible to quickly start the wipers for several working cycles - press the switch lever down. In this case, the wiper will operate at maximum speed until the lever is released. This mode is convenient because it allows you to quickly restore an adequate view through the windshield, for example, after overtaking or passing with an oncoming car on a dirty and wet road.
Switching on the windshield washers
The windshield washers are switched on by pulling the right stalk lever towards you. When the lever is pulled, the pump immersed in the washer fluid reservoir is turned on, and fluid will be continuously supplied to the windshield through special nozzles. The fluid supply stops when the lever is released.
Note. Simultaneously with the supply of fluid, there are usually several wiper operations.
Switching off the headlight lens cleaners and washers
The initiation of the headlight lens cleaners/washers occurs automatically at the same time as the windshield washers are switched on, provided that the exterior lighting is on.
Fluid is supplied to the headlight lenses from the same reservoir as the windshield.
