Warning! The models of vehicles covered in this manual are equipped with a supplemental restraint system (SRS). Before performing any work near the air bag unit, steering column or instrument panel, turn off the SRS to avoid injury from accidental deployment (see Section Airbags - General Information). The SRS circuit wiring is easily identified by the yellow color of the insulation.

Warning! The models of vehicles covered in this…

1. The breaker is a square-shaped relay installed in a mounting block located on the left under the instrument panel.

2. The correct functioning of the breaker is confirmed by a clearly audible rhythmic clicking. Failure of one of the control lamps leads to failure of the breaker to operate. If one of the indicators fails, the frequency of the breaker operation doubles, informing the driver of the need to replace the lamp.

3. Simultaneous failure of both indicators with a high degree of probability indicates failure of the corresponding fuse. It is also possible that the breaker itself or the steering column switch has failed. Check the condition of the contact connections of the electrical wiring of the corresponding circuit. If the fuse has blown, check the electrical wiring for signs of a short circuit.

4. To replace the breaker, pull it vertically upward and remove it from its seat in the mounting block (on the left under the instrument panel).

5. Make sure that the replacement breaker matches the faulty one in size.

6. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
