This signal is sent to the control unit when the transmission is in neutral or PARK.
Turn on the ignition.
While watching the automatic transmission gear indicator, shift the gear selector in all positions.
If the indicator does not light up properly, then check the automatic transmission gear indicator.
If the indicator is working correctly, then you should measure the voltage between 32 (black (-)) and alternately 14 (Green (+)) and 15 (Green/White (+)) contacts in any gear other than Neutral or PARK.
If there is battery voltage, then see paragraph A), if not - item B).
A) Measure the voltage between 14 (Green (+)) and 32 (black (-)) contacts in neutral.
If the voltage is above 3 V, then repair the open in the Green wire between the automatic transmission gear indicator switch and terminal 14 of the control unit.
If the voltage is lower than 3 V, then the voltage should be measured between 15 (Green/White (+)) and 32 (black (-)) contacts on the PARK transmission.
If the voltage is below 3 V, then the automatic transmission gear position signal is normal.
Otherwise, repair an open in the Green/White wire between the automatic transmission gear indicator switch and terminal 15 of the control unit.
B) Switch off the ignition. Disconnect the connectors from the control unit.
Check the electrical connection between 32 (black) and alternately 14 (Green) and 15 (Green/White) contacts.
If there is an electrical connection, then repair the short circuit of the Green or Green/White wire between the automatic transmission gear indicator switch and terminals 14 or 15 of the control unit.
If there is no electrical connection, then the control unit must be replaced.
