1. With the engine cool, drain the coolant from the radiator into a dry, clean container below the level of the oil filter. Close the container to prevent contamination.
2. Disconnect the hoses suitable for the oil filter.
3. Remove the oil filter. Even though the engine is cold and most of the oil is in the sump, be prepared for some oil leakage and wipe it off immediately.
Be especially careful not to get coolant into the oil system, otherwise you will have to change the old oil to a new, uncontaminated one.
4. Remove the oil cooler center bolt that is located above the oil filter mounting location.
5. Remove the oil cooler and its O-ring.
For installation:
6. Install a new O-ring to the oil cooler. Install the cooler with the correct orientation of the hose attachment points. Install the central bolt by tightening it to a torque of 75 Nm.
7. Install the oil filter.
8. Connect the cooling system hoses using new clamps. Check that the hoses are securely connected and not kinked or kinked.
9. Fill the cooling system.
