2. Carefully drain coolant.
3. Loosen the idler nut and adjusting bolt. Remove the power steering pump belt.
4. Disconnect the power steering pump inlet hose. Collect any liquid that comes out.
5. Cover the generator with clean rags to prevent spilled oil. Remove the power steering pump.
6. Disconnect the wiring harness from the generator.
7. Loosen the regulator and remove the alternator belt.
8. Remove the generator.
9. Disconnect the compressor wiring connector.
10. Disconnect the suction and discharge hoses from the compressor. Seal or plug joints and ducts immediately to prevent dirt from entering.
11. Unscrew the 4 compressor mounting bolts and remove the compressor by placing it on the front beam.
12. Remove the idler pulley.
13. Unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the compressor bracket.
14. Remove dowel pins. Remove compressor. If the compressor needs to be replaced, please note that two types of compressor are used: Matsushita or Sanden. They are not interchangeable; must be set to the original type.
For installation:
15. Install the pins and install the bracket. Tighten 4 bolts to 25 Nm. Tighten the separate horizontal bolt to 48 Nm.
16. Install the idler pulley.
17. Install the compressor. Tighten the bolts to 25 Nm.
18. Attach the suction and discharge hoses to the compressor. Tighten the mounting bolts to 30 Nm.
19. Install the compressor connector.
20. Install the generator. Tighten the top bolt to 45 Nm and the bottom bolt to 26 Nm.
21. Install and adjust the compressor/alternator belt tension.
22. Install the power steering pump. Tighten the bolts to 22 Nm.
23. Attach the oil inlet hose.
24. Install and adjust the power steering pump belt.
25. Fill the system with refrigerant and bleed air from the system.
26. Attach the cable to the negative pole of the battery. Start the air conditioning system and check the correct functioning of the system.
