2. Turn off the air conditioning system and engine. Disconnect the negative battery terminal and disconnect the compressor clutch wire from the air conditioning compressor.
3. Carefully drain the refrigerant.
4. Loosen the bolts for adjusting and fastening the power steering pump.
5. Remove the power steering belt.
6. Remove power steering pump. Leave the hoses connected; just move the pump to the side.
7. Disconnect the hoses from the compressor and plug the hoses and ports immediately to keep out dirt. Disconnect the fasteners from the suction hose and drain the refrigerant from the hose.
8. Loosen the bolts for fastening and adjusting the compressor; remove the belt.
9. Remove the fan, cooling condenser and motor mounting frame on the radiator.
10. Unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the compressor. Install the compressor on the car engine beam.
11. Remove compressor brackets. Remove the compressor from the engine compartment. If the compressor needs to be replaced, please note that two types of compressor are used: Keihin or Nippondenso. They are not interchangeable; the original type must be reset.
For installation:
12. When installing a new compressor, add 30 cm3 of compressor oil through the compressor suction port.
13. Install compressor brackets. Tighten the bolts to 47 Nm.
14. Install the compressor; tighten the bolts tightly.
15. Install fan and frame.
16. Install the compressor belt. Finally tighten the mounting bolts to 47 Nm; adjust the belt tension.
17. Connect the hoses to the compressor.
18. Install power steering pump and belt; adjust the belt tension.
19. Connect the wire to the negative battery terminal.
20. Release and recharge the air conditioning system; check the cold air outlet.
