2. Turn off the engine and compressor. Disconnect the cable from the negative pole of the battery.
3. Carefully drain the refrigerant.
4. Remove the power steering mounting bolt, adjusting bolt, bracket and belt. Remove the power steering pump, but do not disconnect any fluid hoses.
5. Unscrew the mounting bolts of the cruise control drive, disconnect the wiring connector and remove the drive. Do not kink or loosen the drive cable.
6. Remove the alternator harness clip and disconnect the alternator harness.
7. Unscrew the alternator mounting bolt, adjusting bolt and regulator bracket. Remove the compressor belt and then the alternator.
8. Disconnect the condenser fan motor and squelch motor connectors. Disconnect the connector from the compressor. Remove the fan mounting shroud and fan.
9. Disconnect the suction and discharge hoses from the compressor. Close lines and joints immediately to prevent dirt from entering.
10. Loosen the compressor mounting bolts and remove the compressor. If necessary, remove the bracket from the engine.
For installation:
11. If the mounting bracket has been removed, install it and tighten the bolts to 50 Nm.
12. Install the compressor; tighten the mounting bolts to 25 Nm.
13. Connect the hoses to the compressor, tighten the mounting nuts to 30 Nm.
14. Install the condenser fan and connect the wiring connectors.
15. Install the generator. Install the alternator/compressor belt and adjust correctly.
16. Connect the generator harness and secure the harness clamp.
17. Install the cruise control drive.
18. Install the power steering pump and belt; adjust the belt tension.
19. Fill the system with refrigerant and bleed air.
