2. Carefully drain the refrigerant.
3. On cars 1984-87. remove the grate. On later vehicles, remove the front bumper.
4. On cars 1988-91. Remove the hood latch assembly and set aside.
5. Disconnect the line and hose from the condenser. Hold all joints with a second wrench if necessary. Do not damage the capacitor. Immediately cover joints and channels to prevent dirt from entering
6. Loosen the condenser mounting bolts. Remove the capacitor from the vehicle. On cars 198487. unscrew the mounting bolts of the upper radiator mount and move the mount a little to get the necessary clearance.
For installation:
7. Before installation, make sure that the rubber bushings for the lower condenser mountings are present and properly installed.
8. Place the capacitor in place. Install the mounting bolts and tighten them to 10 Nm.
9. Replace O-rings and connect line and hose.
10. Install the hood latch assembly, if removed.
11. Install grille or front bumper.
12. Fill in coolant and bleed air from the system. Check the system for correct functioning.
