2. Using a jack, raise the car so that the wheel is off the ground.
Attention. Be sure to chock the opposite wheel and block the rear wheels with the parking brake.
3. Slowly rotate the wheel by hand and check for excessive axial and radial runout.
4. Install the indicator as shown in the figures, slowly rotate the wheel by hand and measure the axial and radial runout of the front and rear wheels.
Standard axial runout front and rear wheels:
- Forged discs: 0-1.0mm
- Alloy wheels: 0-07mm
Ultimate axial runout:
- Stamped discs: 2.0mm
- Alloy wheels: 2.0mm
Standard radial runout front and rear wheels:
- Forged discs: 0-1.0mm
- Alloy wheels: 0-07mm
Ultimate radial runout:
- Stamped discs: 1.5mm
- Alloy wheels: 1.5mm
5. If the wheel runout exceeds the limit, replace the wheel.
