Warning!
- To avoid damage to the transmission, do not test the engine speed with the vehicle stationary for more than 10 seconds at a time.
- Do not shift the lever while increasing engine speed.
- Before carrying out the test on a stationary vehicle, remove the pressure gauge.
Note: The engine speed test with the vehicle stationary is for diagnostic purposes only.
1. Apply the parking brake and chock the front wheels.
2. Connect a tachometer to the engine and start the engine.
3. Make sure the air conditioner is turned off.
4. After the engine has warmed up to normal operating temperature (radiator fan turns on), shift to position D.
5. Fully depress the brake and accelerator pedal for 6-8 seconds and read the engine speed.
6. Allow the engine to cool for two minutes, then repeat the test in the L and R positions.
Engine speed with the vehicle stationary in position D:
- Standard: 2500 rpm
- Limit: 2350-2650 rpm
Engine speed on a stationary vehicle in position D in mode S, in positions L and R:
- Standard: 3000 rpm
- Limit: 2800-3100 rpm
