Warning!
- To avoid damage to the transmission, do not test the engine speed with the vehicle stationary for more than 10 seconds at a time.
- Do not shift the lever when the engine speed increases.
- Before testing with the vehicle stationary, remove the pressure gauge.
Note: Testing the engine speed with the vehicle stationary is for diagnostic purposes only.
1. Apply the parking brake and place chocks under the front wheels.
2. Connect the tachometer to the engine and start the engine.
3. Make sure the air conditioner is turned off.
4. After the engine has warmed up to normal operating temperature (the radiator fan comes on), shift to position D.
5. Press the brake and accelerator pedals all the way down for 6-8 seconds and record the engine speed.
6. Allow the engine to cool for two minutes, then repeat the test in positions L and R.
Engine speed with vehicle stationary in position D:
- Standard: 2500 rpm
- Limit: 2350-2650 rpm
Engine speed with the vehicle stationary in position D, in mode S, in positions L and R:
- Standard: 3000 rpm
- Limit: 2800-3100 rpm
