Flow control valve
1. Check the flow control valve for wear, nicks, or other damage on the edges of the grooves on the valve.
2. Check for scratches or wear on the walls of the flow control valve cylinder.
3. Insert the valve back into the pump and make sure it moves smoothly (figure in the top right column).
If everything is OK, go to step 4. If not, replace the pump assembly. The flow control valve is not supplied separately.
4. Connect a hose to the end of the valve. Immerse the valve in a container of power steering fluid or solvent and blow into the hose. If at a pressure less than 98 kPa (1.0 kgf/cm2) air bubbles come out of the valve, replace the pump assembly.
If the flow control valve has been tested, install it in the pump. If it is still leaking air, replace the pump assembly. The flow control valve is not supplied separately.
Ball bearing
