Note:
- Do not reuse drained brake fluid.
- Use only clean Genuine Honda brake fluid or equivalent DOT3 or DOT4 brake fluid.
- Do not allow dirt or other foreign material to enter the brake fluid.
- Do not spill brake fluid on your car as it may damage the paintwork; if liquid does spill, wash it off immediately with water.
- At the beginning of the bleeding procedure, the fluid level in the reservoir on the master cylinder should be at the (upper) MAX mark. The level should be checked after bleeding each brake caliper and fluid should be added if necessary.
1. Make sure that the brake fluid level in the reservoir is at the MAX (upper) mark.
2. Have an assistant slowly pump the brake pedal several times, then press and hold the pedal.
3. Loosen the bleed screw and release air from the system. Then tighten the bleed screw securely.
4. Repeat the operation on each wheel in the indicated sequence until no more air bubbles come out of the liquid.
Note: Left hand drive model shown; the arrangement on the right-hand drive model is symmetrical.
5. Fill the master cylinder reservoir to the (upper) MAX mark.
