A) Check the indicator "CHECK ENGINE".
- During the operation of the indicator, the fault diagnostics mode is enabled;
- If the indicator does not light up, follow the next step.
b) Disconnect connector "E (31R) " electronic control unit "PGM-FI".
V) Check continuity between pin "24" connector "E (31P) " electronic control unit "PGM-FI" and conclusion "11" connector "WITH (30R) ".
- If there is no continuity, the wires or the connector may be damaged.
- If there is continuity, replace the instrument cluster.
2. Checking the pulses.
Before checking, fulfill the conditions:
- Make sure the output does not show a fault code "R1607".
- Make sure that the output does not show an automatic transmission fault code "P0720".
- Disconnect lead "16" (7.5 A) connector.
- Verify that there is continuity between the terminal being tested and "weight".
A) Spin the four wheels.
b) connect a tester or oscilloscope to the output "C10" connector "30R" instrument clusters.
V) Move the ignition switch to the position "ON" and slowly rotate the front wheels.
G) Make sure the voltage pulses reach approximately 0-5V or 12V.
If the voltage is as described, but the speedometer is not working correctly, replace the instrument cluster.
If the voltage is not as described, check the speed sensor and the electronic control unit "PGM-FI". Replace instrument cluster if necessary.
d) Make sure that the voltage pulses on the output "31Р" electronic control unit "PGM-FI" reach approximately 0-5V or 12V.
If the voltage matches the description, there may be damage to the wiring harness "L/Y".
If the voltage is not as described, check the speed sensor. Signal waveform (signal amplitude 0-5 V or 12 V, pulse frequency depends on the speed of rotation of the front wheels).
