1. The engine must be cold during these tests.
2. Remove the air cleaner.
3. To install the throttle, press the accelerator all the way and release it slowly. The damper must close completely. If the engine temperature is above 28°C, the damper will not close completely (but must close within 3mm of full closure).
4. If the damper closes normally, continue testing the fast idle kicker.
5. If the damper does not close completely, carefully check for dirt or binding in the linkage. Spray the linkage with carburetor cleaner and repeat the test.
6. If the throttle still does not work properly, remove its cover and check what is preventing the movement of the linkage.
7. If the throttle still does not work, replace its cap.
