Adjusting the Float Level — 1986-89 Accord (Honda Accord 3)

With the vehicle level on the ground and the engine at normal operating temperature, check the primary and secondary fuel level sight glasses on the side of the carburetor. Quickly rev the engine from idle to 3,000 rpm and back again several times, then let the engine idle. If the fuel level is not centered in the window, adjust it by turning the adjusting screws, which are located in the recesses above the inspection windows.

Do not turn the adjustment screws more than 1/8 turn every 15 seconds.

When the correct fuel level is reached in the window(s), mark the screws with white paint.
