1. Drain the coolant.
2. Disconnect the adjusting cable from the valve.
3. Place a sump under the valve, especially on an Accord with a valve inside the vehicle. Loosen and remove the clamps from the hoses on the valve. Disconnect the hoses from the valve.
4. If the valve is fastened with a screw or bolt, unscrew it. Remove valve.
For installation:
5. Put the valve in place. Attach the hoses with new clamps and secure with a bolt. Note that the hose clamps are very inconvenient when working under the dashboard in a 1984 or 1985 Accord.
6. Connect the control cable.
7. Fill and bleed air from the cooling system.
