It is NOT necessary to remove the instrument panel.
1. Drain the coolant from the cooling system. Remove the caps and clamps from the heater pipes.
2. Remove the cover from the heater hose (inside the cabin) and the clamps from the heater hoses.
3. Remove the heater radiator support plate.
4. Pull the cotter pin out of the hose clamps and separate the heater pipes.
When disconnecting the heater pipes, refrigerant will leak out. Place a tray under the pipes to catch the refrigerant.
5. When all the coolant has been drained from the heater core, remove it from the housing.
6. Assembly is done in reverse order. Pay attention to the following points:
- a. Replace the hose clamps with new ones.
- b. Tighten the hose clamps tightly with a cotter pin to prevent refrigerant leakage.
- c. Fill the cooling system with coolant and open the bleed bolt until coolant starts to flow out. Tighten the bolt when all air has been released from the system.
