Replacing the ignition distributor (Honda Avancier 1)

Removal

1. Disconnect the connector from the distributor.

2. Disconnect the high-voltage cables from the distributor cap.

3. Loosen the mounting bolts and remove the distributor from the cylinder head.

Installation

1. Replace the distributor O-ring and apply grease to it.

2. Clean the contact surfaces of the distributor and cylinder head from dirt.

3. Align the protrusion on the distributor with the groove on the camshaft and install the distributor.

Note: The protrusion and groove are offset from the center.

4. Tighten the distributor mounting bolts by hand.

5. Connect the high voltage cables to the distributor cap.



6. Connect the connector to the distributor.

7. Check the ignition timing and tighten the mounting bolts.
