Attention:
- If the primary, secondary pistons or master cylinder body have been changed, be sure to check and adjust the gap in the pressure rod (see below).
- Be sure to replace unused components.
- Do not reuse drained brake fluid. Use genuine Honda DOT3 or DOT4 brake fluid.
- To prevent chemical changes in the brake fluid, do not mix fluids of different types.
1. Install the reservoir seal in the groove in the lid.
2. Install the filter and cap on the tank.
3. Install new rubber bushings on the tank.
4. Apply brake fluid to the primary piston cups.
- Do not reuse a removed primary piston.
- Before installation, lightly press the valve stem through the oblong hole and make sure it moves smoothly.
5. Apply brake fluid to the cuff.
6. Apply grease to the entire surface of the secondary piston collar.
- Do not reuse a removed secondary piston.
7. Install the primary and secondary pistons in the master cylinder.
Install the primary piston so that the oblong hole in the piston aligns with the hole for the locking pin.
8. Push in the secondary piston, align the oblong hole in the primary piston with the lock pin hole, and install the lock pin.
9. Establish a tank on the main cylinder.
10. While pressing the secondary piston, insert the circlip into the cylinder groove.
11. Install the master cylinder to the booster.
12. Adjust push rod clearance.
