Warning! Make sure the lifts, jacks and safety stands are properly installed (see ch. 1).
1. Raise the front of the vehicle and secure it securely.
2. Set the parking brake and chock both rear wheels.
3. Remove the front console (see ch. «Body»).
4. Shift to N, then remove the lock pin from the adjuster.
5. Disconnect the automatic transmission selector switch connector.
6. On KQ and KU models, disconnect the shift lock solenoid and park switch connectors.
7. Remove the nuts securing the selector lever assembly from under the bottom.
8. Install the selector lever assembly in the reverse order of removal.
9. Check shift cable adjustment (see above).
Note: The illustration shows a right hand drive model; the location on the left-hand drive model is similar.
