Note: with the healing key in position "ON (II) " and the engine is not running, the indicator lights up for a few seconds, then goes out.
2. If the indicator does not go out, diagnose the electric power steering.
A) Make sure the steering wheel is in the straight ahead position.
6) Turn the ignition key to position "ON" (do not start the engine).
V) Short the lead "SCS" to the mass. To do this, connect the tester to the diagnostic socket "DLC" or connect the diagnostic socket "DLC" (A) to a special device (IN), and the conclusions "4" and 9" close the special devices with a wire.

Diagnosis using a special device
3. Read fault codes by the number of flashes of the EPS indicator.
Location of components:
1 - instrument cluster (EPS indicator),
2 - relay block in the cabin,
3 - EPS control unit,
4 - relay block in the engine compartment,
5 - moment sensor,
6 - steering gear assembly,
7 - DLC diagnostic connector,
8 - battery.
Note:
- In the absence of malfunctions, the indicator flashes continuously at a frequency of 1 time per second.
- Fault codes are repeated until the key is turned in the ignition switch to the position "OFF".
- If there is a malfunction, after a pause of 3 seconds, the output of codes starts,
- The derivation of codes starts from the smallest.
- The first sequence of flashes corresponds to the first number of the diagnostic code, which consists of two numbers. After a pause of 2 seconds, a second sequence of flashes is displayed, corresponding to the second number of the code.
- see picture "Reading trouble codes".
- If with the ignition off ("OFF") close the output "SCS", to ground, and then start the engine, the system will enter the code reading mode. If you do not start the engine, but turn on the healing ("ON"), the system will switch to the erasing codes mode.
4. After reading fault codes, erase them.
