Attention! The air conditioning system is constantly under high pressure. Never disconnect refrigeration lines or remove any system components without first discharging the system. The discharge of the air conditioning system must be carried out by an experienced specialist in a car service workshop. Always wear safety goggles when disconnecting refrigerant lines!
When replacing air conditioning system components, a certain amount of replacement refrigerant oil will be required to fill the volume of the new assembly. Use only oil suitable for use in R-134a systems (read the label on the container carefully).
Withdrawal
1. Discharge the air conditioning system in a specialized workshop.
2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
Attention! If the stereo system installed in the car is equipped with a security code, before disconnecting the battery, make sure that you have the correct combination to activate the audio system!
3. Remove the expansion tank of the cooling system (see Section Removal and installation of the radiator and expansion tank of the cooling system).
4. Disconnect wiring from cooling and air conditioning fans (see Section Checking the condition of the cooling system fans and their switching circuits; fan replacement). Remove the heatsink with the fan assemblies attached to it with their shrouds.
5. Remove the bolts and disconnect the condensing and discharge lines from the capacitor. Seal open ends of lines and fittings immediately to prevent dirt and moisture from entering the system.
6. Turn out bolts of fastening of the condenser.
7. Remove the capacitor.
Installation
1. Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
Note. O-rings must be replaced without fail (lightly lubricate new rings with R-134a refrigerant oil before installation).
2. Have the system charged and checked for leaks in a specialist workshop. When replacing the condenser, add about 25 ml of refrigerant oil to the system.
