Warning! See warnings at the beginning of the Section Relieving pressure in the fuel system.

1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

Warning! If the car stereo system is equipped with a security code, make sure you have the correct combination to activate the audio system before disconnecting the battery!

2. Remove the fuel pump assembly with the fuel flow sensor from the tank (see Section Removal and installation the fuel pump).

2. Remove the fuel pump assembly with the fuel…

3. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals of the assembly connector.

Note. It is necessary to select the ohmmeter measurement range of 200 Ohms. Record the meter readings in two extreme positions of the fuel flow sensor assembly float. The change in resistance with the float movement should occur uniformly, without jerks and delays.

4. When the tank is empty (lower float position), the sensor resistance should be 105÷107 Ohm.

5. In the upper position of the float, the ohmmeter readings should be 3÷5 Ohm.

6. If the results of the above check are negative, replace the fuel flow sensor.

Replacement

1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

Note: If your car stereo is equipped with a security code, make sure you have the correct combination to activate the audio system before disconnecting the battery!
