Type of fuel used
For KY modifications:
The vehicle engine is designed to run on leaded gasoline with an octane rating of 92 or higher. The use of unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 92 or higher is also acceptable.
For all modifications except KY:
Operation of vehicles with engines of 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0 liters must be carried out on unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of at least 95 (according to the research method - AI).
For refueling vehicles with a 2.2 liter engine, unleaded fuel with an octane rating of at least 98 should be used (AI). There may be situations when gasoline with the required octane number is not available at the gas station. In these cases, you can use gasoline with an octane rating of 95. The engine management system adapts it to the gasoline used, however, some reduction in the developed power as a result of this replacement becomes inevitable.
Operation of the car on leaded gasoline can lead to failure of the catalytic converter, the engine itself. We should not forget about the factor of environmental pollution.
Filling the fuel tank
Gasoline is flammable and explosive. Careless handling of gasoline can result in burns or other serious injury. When filling the fuel tank, turn off the engine, do not bring hot or sparking objects close to the open throat of the wine, do not smoke on the territory of the gas station. Perform all maintenance operations on the fuel system outdoors only. If splashes of gasoline come into contact with open areas of the skin or paintwork surfaces of body elements, they should be wiped immediately with a dry rag.
The filler neck of the fuel tank is located on the left side of the car, so drive up to the fuel dispenser at a gas station should be on the left side.
Open the fuel filler door by pulling on the handle located next to the driver's seat, to the left of the driver's seat. Slowly turning, remove the cap from the filler neck.
Unscrewing the cap may be accompanied by a characteristic hissing sound that occurs when the fuel vapor leaves the tank. On some models, a special holder is provided, which is located on the inside of the hatch and is designed for temporary fastening of the fuel filler cap during refueling.
Refueling should be stopped as soon as the dispenser pump is automatically switched off. Do not try to fill the tank above the norm - leave free space for fuel to expand when heated.
Screw the cap onto the fuel filler neck and tighten it properly - at least two clicks of the cap lock should be heard.
Close the hatch and press it to snap the latch of the lock.
Fuel shutoff valve
Leaking gasoline can cause a fire or explosion and result in serious injury or death to the driver and passengers. Before switching on the fuel valve in working condition, it is necessary to make sure that there are no traces of gasoline leakage.
Some models are equipped with a fuel shut-off valve, which is located on the right behind the center console of the instrument panel. The valve is designed to ensure fire safety in case of a traffic accident. In the event of a collision, the valve automatically shuts off the fuel supply to the engine. The triggered valve must be manually brought into working condition, press the valve control button. After completing this procedure, starting the engine becomes possible.
