Reverse Light Switch — Removal and Installation (Honda Accord 3)

The reversing light switch is mounted on the outside of the gearbox housing. It should be removed as follows. Set the lever to neutral. Raise and securely support the car. Disconnect the electrical wiring connectors. Remove the switch and washer by unscrewing them from the housing.



When removed, the switch can be easily tested with a tester by measuring its resistance. In the normal state, there should be a break between the switch contacts. When the switch button (or plunger) is pressed, the resistance between the contacts should be zero.



When assembling, always replace the sealing washer between the switch and the housing. It not only prevents oil leakage, but also sets the length of the switch protrusion into the box. Tighten the switch with a tightening torque of 25 Nm. Connect the wiring and lower the machine to the ground.
