Before dismantling the input shaft, the following measurements should be made. If any dimensions are out of tolerance, then the input shaft should be disassembled and the necessary thrust washers replaced. If all dimensions meet the tolerances, then the input shaft should be disassembled only if any parts of the shaft are damaged.
1. Measure the gap between the lip on the 4th gear and the lip seal. The tolerance is 0.03-0.18 mm. If the tolerance is not met, then the width of the 4th gear should be measured. The width tolerance is 31.30-31.47mm.
2. Measure the gap between the edges of the 3rd and 2nd gears. The tolerance is 0.03-0.18 mm. If the tolerance is not met, then measure the width of the 3rd gear. The width tolerance is 31.30-31.47mm.
3. Measure the gap between the edges on the 5th gear and the gasket. The tolerance is 0.03-0.13 mm. If the tolerance is not met, then the width of the 5th gear should be measured. The width tolerance is 32.30-32.47 mm.
4. Measure the clearance between the 28mm bushing and the ball bearing. The tolerance is 0-0.01mm. If the tolerance is not maintained, the washer must be replaced. Washers are available in the following sizes:
- A - 1.88-1.92 mm.
- B - 1.94-1.98 mm.
- C - 2.00-2.04 mm.
- D - 2.06-2.10 mm.
- E - 2.12-2.16 mm.
5. If any size does not satisfy the tolerance, then before disassembling the assembly, calculate the thickness that must be selected to fall within the operating range.
